As a big fan of BAO, I decided to compile all my favourite things about this London-based chain. One of BAO's greatest achievements is its consistency; you can expect the same high quality and standards at every location, every time.

BAO has seven restaurants across London (plus two market stalls), each with a unique theme.
- BAO Soho: The original BAO, resembling a Taiwanese Xiao Chi house, has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand for nine consecutive years. Its specialty is small plates.
- BAO Shoreditch: A noodle shop specialising in bowls of noodles, it features a unique interior design, a karaoke room, and the best lunch deal in town. You will often find me here having lunch. This restaurant is inspired by the beef noodle shops in Taiwan.
- BAO City: The new and now flagship restaurant and karaoke from BAO. This one has a lovely and very friendly staff, with a good balance on the variety of dishes. I’d recommend to try the “Taipei story” set set menu. It will give you the nice glimpse of BAO’s offerings.
- BAO Borough: The only grill house from BAO, it is located next to the infamous Borough Market in London Bridge. With a very lively neighbourhood, this one might be the hardest to find a seat in, alongside the Soho location.
- BAO Battersea: Possibly the best interiors of all, it is located inside the newly renovated Battersea Power Station and is the official Noodle Shop 2.0 from BAO.
- Outdoors: a BAO canteen opened for the summer at the ArcadeX pier.
- BAO Kings Cross: This BAO features rice plates, tea snacks, and bubble teas. With comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors, it resembles Taiwanese cafés.
- BAO Marylebone: Located close to Oxford Street, St. Christopher’s Place is the best area to dine after a long day of shopping.
- BAO Night Market

BAO also offers click & collect at all restaurants and delivery through Deliveroo.
